Chinese city gets a sky high bicycle lane

The firm who built the Copenhagen Bicycle Snake has now completed the designs for a 7.6km elevated bicycle path in Xiamen, China. Dissing + Weitling had a vision to inspire people to prioritise green alternatives such as the bicycle instead of using cars to commute.

The architects said that bicycles are becoming increasingly popular in China, mostly due to the amount of traffic present on the roads. The ramp will be elevated 5 meters above the street allowing cyclists places to stop and enjoy the view making a cycling commute much more fun than driving!

Do you cycle to work every day? Do you enjoy the view? Let us know by sharing your thoughts on social media!
