Don’t forget that Cycle to Work day will return on the Thursday 3rd September 2015. The national event organised by C2W provider Cyclescheme is now in its third year and is designed to engage and encourage workers to ditch the car for a saddle for a day.
Television presenter, Denise Van Outen has been involved helping to raise awareness by encouraging more women to take part in next month’s event. A cycling enthusiast herself, Denise Van Outen has completed two charity cycling events to raise funds for Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital in London. She will also be taking part in the upcoming day’s events as well as promoting cycling to work to others. The popular TV presenter said “Cycling to work is great, because it’s a win win, saving money on a bike, and getting your exercise done for the day on the way to and from work,”
She added “Loads of local bike shops are offering free bike health checks from 24th August to 3rd September.”
So if you are interested in taking part in the Cycle to Work day and you’ve just recovered your bicycle from the garden shed; just bring it on down to the station for a quick health check.
