Yes, cycling enthusiasts, you heard that right, Mark Cavendish is coming to Cheltenham this August. Douglas born, Cavendish has won many popular cycling events, including the tour de France in 30 individual stages.
Mark Cavendish will be the official star of the Rise Above sportive event at the Cheltenham Racecourse on 5th August and will take part in a number of cycling routes throughout the day. Rise Above wants people to always strive for perfection and the event is giving people the opportunity to challenge themselves. All three routes have been designed with your enjoyment at the heart of them along with them being challenging.
Two amazing partners for Rise Above are help for Heroes and Right to Play. Mark is a fantastic patron and ambassador for Help for Heroes because the charity started off with bike rides to raise funds. They aim to give a second chance to those who put their lives on the line for us and Right to play aims to give children the freedom to enjoy themselves and play. With all three routes going up Cleeve hill, which if you didn’t know happens to be the highest point in the Cotswolds, being a whopping 330 metres high, all the rides will go through the most picturesque and breathtaking parts of Cheltenham.
