Riding the storm at The Cheltenham Festival of Cycling

On Saturday  9th of September the Bicycle Hub were really excited to be a part of The Bloor Homes Cheltenham Festival of Cycling Demo Zone, featuring the Tour of Britain. The dedicated team descended on the town of Cheltenham and showcased some top notch electric bikes and provided free bike checks to passing cyclists too!

Those that attended the festival will know that the heavens opened up and one epic storm hit Cheltenham, but that did not deter the crowds and still in spirit of the day the Bicycle Hub team, created a cycle lane in-front of the iconic Municipal building in Cheltenham that looped around the long gardens, so that race revelers could have some FREE bike action for themselves...come rain or shine!

The curious, young and old and those in the cycle know hopped on our FreeGO Hawk E-Bike and took laps of the temporary cycle lane. Some passersby took a little more coaxing than others, but once on the E-Bike, they loved it and were amazed at the freedom and adaptability the electric bike gave them especially on a steep hill!

The Hawk is the most sturdy and adaptable bike within the bicycle hub range, not only is it great commuter bike it is also excellent on off road trails. The tempered frame is tough enough and resilient enough to explore some off road hidden gems, making it great all rounder! Prices start from around £999 (depending on specification).

There is no excuse now not to get out in the fresh air , get active and ride to the top of Cleeve Hill in homage to the Tour of Britain – (we won’t tell anyone that the Free Go Hawk did all the hard work if you don’t)

You may have also heard us on the radio too, we were interviewed by the lovely BBC Radio Gloucestershire team about the happenings on the day! If you haven't already, why not catch up with the action of the day by watching the Tour of Britain Stage 7 highlights here.
