Summer Cycling with The Bicycle Hub

Summer is the perfect time to brush off the cobwebs from your bike and get active. So, to get you started we’ve pulled together some top tips whatever your ability, to help get you cycling this summer.

  1. Dig out your bike or hire one: Dig out your bike from the shed, dust off the cobwebs and make sure all of the fixtures and fittings are secure, the bike is well oiled and of course safe to ride. If you don’t have a bike, you can always pop down to The Bicycle Hub at Cheltenham Spa Railway Station to hire or buy a pre-owned bicycle.
  2. Safety checks: Before the fun can begin, you need to ensure that your bicycle is safe to ride; especially if you haven’t ridden it in a while. Our servicing starts from £35 and will check everything from the brakes to the saddle!
  3. Research some local cycle routes: Before heading out into the cycling world, research some local cycling routes that suit your abilities. If you already have a favourite, check that no changes have been made.
  4. Warm up: As with any exercise, it is extremely important to warm up before. So, get stretching those muscles!
  5. Enjoy: Cycling is great fun so get out there and enjoy! No summer cycling experience would be complete without a picnic! Pack a picnic and take it on your cycle ride, when you find the perfect spot, stop and just take in the views!

Happy cycling!
