The best places to ride your bike in Cheltenham

We are really proud here at The Bicycle Hub to be located in the town of Cheltenham. From being located right next to the train station to having the Regency Architecture Town Centre just a 5 minute cycle ride away from our unit, it really is a unique place to live and work.

Whether you live in Cheltenham or you are just passing through, the contrast can sometimes be really quite interesting. One minute you can be in the bustling town centre and within minutes you can be on a Steam Railway Line! Cheltenham is also a fantastic destination to explore on two wheels and bicycle hire can be available from us from just £16 per day, per bike.

Here are some of the best places in Cheltenham to ride your bike in Cheltenham:

Pittville park

There is a popular off-road cycling route running through and around Pittville Park with stunning scenery and landscapes including a large lake surrounded by wooded area. There are also children’s playground facilities, a café and a kiosk offering refreshments if you’re cycling as a family or fancy a break. You will also pass the Grade II listed Pittville Pump Rooms too.

Winchcombe and Cleeve Hill

Cycling in Winchcombe offers luscious countryside and small village routes with plenty of charm. Cleeve Hill offers a challenging climb amongst beautiful landscape and views. Will you take on the challenge?

Cheltenham Flat Loops

The Cheltenham Flat Loops offers fairly easy-going and flat cycling, avoiding main roads for the most-part making it spot on for families. The route starts off on the Honeyboure Line path and passes Cheltenham Racecourse as well as the Steam Railway! The route usually takes approximately one hour to complete in one go. There are several pubs and stop off points along the way though should you need a break.

Honeybourne Railway Line

As previously mentioned, the Honeybourne Railway Line cycle path is an established and commonly used route. The route is flat and relatively easy and stretches from the Prince of Wales Stadium to Cheltenham Spa Railway Station.

There are plans to soon extend the Honeybourne line cycle route to join up to Lansdowne Road too - What are your thoughts?

Gloucester to Cheltenham Route

The Gloucester to Cheltenham Route passes Kingsholm, Longlevens, Churchdown, Gloucestershire Airport, Bamfurlong, Landsdowne and into Cheltenham centre. The route is just over 9 miles long and usually takes under an hour to complete making for the perfect afternoon cycle ride.

Cheltenham Town Cycling

Cheltenham Town offers great cycling, including through Montpellier and the Promenade, capturing the inner Cheltenham atmosphere and allowing you to explore all that the town has to offer. The Tour of Britain 2017 route finished in Cheltenham town centre as the cyclists rode through Pittville Park, crossed the Promenade and finished at Imperial Gardens - It was a really exciting day!
