Thanks to renowned bike hire specialists The Bicycle Hub, locals and visitors alike can now explore Cheltenham on two wheels with the launch of The Regency Cheltenham Cycle Trail.
In association with Marketing Cheltenham and Compass Holidays; the cycle trail is a gentle six-mile route taking in some of Cheltenham’s most iconic buildings and landmarks. Budding bicycle explorers will be provided with bike hire including mobile phone holder, helmet and a route map.
Cyclists will also have access to a new mobile phone app developed by local tour operator Compass Holidays. Using GPS technology, The Regency Cheltenham Cycle Trail App acts as a modern-day tour guide throughout the route providing historical information and interesting facts about the town.
Steve Short, The Bicycle Hub owner said, “I’m delighted that we have organised Cheltenham’s first Regency bicycle tour. Cycling is extremely popular and I’m expecting that the ability to see the sights of Cheltenham on two wheels will appeal greatly to couples, groups and families. The cycle tour is another way of experiencing the whole of Cheltenham easily and relatively quickly and seeing places that may not be covered on foot.”
The route begins at The Bicycle Hub’s premises at Cheltenham Spa railway station, follows the Honeybourne Line, before winding through Pittville Park. The trail then takes cyclist through the town, along traditional Cheltonian streets and offers plenty of great places to explore or to stop off for food and drink along the way.
